Exciting news--and a favo[u]r
March 16, 2010
Dear Readers,Normally, I send out a newsletter only once a month. But I just found out this morning that Arusha has been shortlisted for a Lambda Literary Award. For those of you not familiar with the Lambda Literary Foundation, it began with Lambda Rising in Washington, D.C., one of my favorite bookstores that--alas--has now gone the way of so many other independent bookshops. The Lambda Literary Awards are for excellence in books in the broad category of LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgendered). I am particularly honored that Arusha is a finalist in the category of Bisexual Fiction--this recognizes the complex love story, between a wife and her husband, that is at the heart of my novel.
Meanwhile, if you've read Arusha and liked it, please consider jotting a brief review on Amazon.com. I know many of you bought the book elsewhere--and I thank you!--but the Amazon sites do reach many readers in different countries who may not otherwise find out about a book. And, I'm told that customer reviews there make a big difference in sales.
Anyway, if you have a few seconds--but no pressure. Here's that link:

Thanks, as always, for reading and for your continued support.
